Despite all my searching, the closest Native American ancestor I can find is Ann Jacobs, whom Jess Wilson claimed was a "Jacobs Cherokee." This would make [her] only 1/16 Cherokee if Ann was full blood. There are a number of unknowns on the Brooks side of the family, though, and it's possible some native blood came that way, too.”
