Seventh Generation
Family of Charles COMPTON (64) & Jane TIBBS
84. George COMPTON (Charles6, Christopher5, Christopher4, Tristram3, John “the Elder”2, Edward1). Born in 1740. George died in 1824; he was 84.

From other researchers:
- George left a will dated 1821 and proved in London in 1824. He lived in St Marys and seemed to have had lands, “hereditaments” and “all Premises” which seem to have belongd to the Reverend John Sheppard, deceased, of Westbury (that White Horse!) the lands going forward to Thomas and his son William. This actually suggests they were copyhold for three lives. Was a Cordwainer, but listed as “gent” in will.
85. Thomas COMPTON (Charles6, Christopher5, Christopher4, Tristram3, John “the Elder”2, Edward1). Born in 1749 in Chitterne St Mary, Wiltshire, England. Thomas died in 1821; he was 72. Occupation: Shoemaker.
