Obituary: Mrs Pearl Harris, 81, of West Fork died April 13 [1982] at a Fayetteville hospital. She was born Oct 1, 1900 in Hazel Valley, the daughter of George and Betty Winkle Long. She was a homemaker and a member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Harris of Elkins and Bennie Harris of Fayetteville;
two daughters, Mrs Dixie Brooks of Siloam Springs and Mrs Betty Richardson of Strickler;
five brothers, Clem Long of Elkins, Leonard Long and Woodrow Long, both of Fayetteville, Lem Long of Springdale and Gene Long of Hazel Valley;
three sisters, Mrs Grace Cornett of Fayetteville, Mrs Lona Warford of Elkins and Mrs Oma Hattabough of Hazel Valley;
21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2pm Friday at the First Baptist Church at Elkins with the Rev Don Seigler officiating. Burial will be at Mount Salem Cemetery under the direction of Nelson’s Funeral Home.”

Grace Cornett, 85, of Fayetteville died April 8 at a Fayetteville nursing home. She was born Feb 9, 1902 [gravestone says Mar 9, 1902] in Hazel Valley, the daughter of George W and Betty Winkle Long. She wa a homemake, a Protestant and a lifelong resident of the area. She was the widow of James Cornett.
Survivors include four brothers, Gene Long of Hazel Valley, Clem Long of Elkins, Leonard Long of Fayetteville and Lem Long of Springdale; twi sisters, Oma Hattabaugh of Hazel Valley and Lone Wardord of Elkins.
Graveside seervices were April 10 at Fiarview Memorial Gardens with Jack Hall officiateing. Arrangements were undet the direction of Moore’s Chapel of Fayetteville.

James Henry Cornett, 87, resident of 505 West Mountain Street, died early this morning in a local hospital. Born August 19, 1871, in London KY, he was a Mason and a farmer.
Survivors are his wife Grace of the home; one son Glen Cornett, Chicago Ill.; two daughters, Mrs Maivry Weaver and Mrs Jimmmy Wilson, National Citiy, Calif.; and dten grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10 am in Fairview cemetery by Sterling McBee?, minister of Christ’s Church, uner the direction of Mooore’s Chapel.
NOTE: no children were listed in wife’s later obit. Was he previously married? James was 32 years older than Grace.
