He later lived in the house he built himself, Homelands, 1 St. John's Cresc, Whitchurch, Cardiff. It was on the corner of St. Margaret,s Road and St. John's Crescent.He was a local councillor on Whitchurch Parish Council, Cardiff Rural District Council and Glamorgan County Councillor. Charles' building company built the Cholera Hospital on Flat Holme Isleand.

- daughter of William Fishlock (1820-1891) and Ann Bush (1829-1925), youngest of 7 children.
- Elizabeth was born at Twyn-Rodyn, Wenvoe. (Row of cottageson top of hill on right from Cardiff after TV studeos.) Her father worked in Greenwood Quarrie and later kept Post Office in Wenvoe Village. In the 1881 census he is shown as an agriculteral labourer. She married Charles at Wenvoe Church. Elizabeth had a sister Jane who married John Williams and lived Sully. They had 3 girls I think and a son Mansel who lived in Sully. Daughter Lena kept a shop in Barry and never married. Her sister Gladys did office work in Cardiff and they both lived together above the shop. Gladys did not marry either. Another daughter married ? Grubb and had son Percy. Elizabrth's brother Joe married Mattie ? They kept Wenvoe Farm and I believe the old house is still there.They had no children. There was another brother, name not known. Relatives still live at Wenvoe.

Maud married Patrick Joe Creedon in 1914. Joe was an Irish catholic and therefor not quite welcome in the family, so I am told.(Not exactly very kind!!!) Maud and Joe lived in Canton and had no children.
