- Married in London. Marriage for a Jane Sarles in Marylebone district June q 1867 to either John Cassingham or Laurence White. (the other female on the page was Philadelphia Corke Fenner)
RESEARCH NOTES:
- 1853: a Jane Elizabeth Sarles died in Hastings (2b 19), Q2 1853, no age listed
- 1881 census: John Cassingham (1843) married to a Charlotte, with 6 kids. A Laurence White (1848) married to Amy. Another Lawrence White (1849) unmarried living with mother. A quick look in USA and Canada didn’t show up anything. There were Whites from Ireland, and France? Did Jane die young?
- Found a (2nd?) marriage listing for a John Edward Cassingham, Q4 1870, (vol 2a, pg 899 in Maidstone, Kent) to either a Charlotte Hearn or Celia Seymour. This is likely the same Cassingham married to Charlotte in the 1881 census. Jane must have died before 1870, but no death registrations found for her between 1867-1871 under name of Jane Cassingham. Were divorces possible? Perhaps there are 2 John Cassinghams? Only 1 listed in the 1881 British Census. Only 1 listed in the USA (born 1842 in OH), none in Canada.
- Also found a (2nd?) marriage listing for Laurence White, Q3 1870, Medway Kent (vol 2a, pg 653), to either a Emma Denning or Amy Ellis. There are SO MANY death records for a Jane White between 1867 and 1870, but only a few in their 20’s but none in Hastings. Possibly a Jane age 25, Q4 1869 in Pancras [London/Middlesex]?
