- Ann probably married Thomas Allen of Durrington in 1699. A query that she was a bit old at 37 seems pointless.

MARRIAGE: to Ann Cooper, daughter of an old Tidworth family, 11.3.1706/7 in Salisbury, St Edmunds Church [England]; previously entered as 1706 South Tidworth, England.
John moved to Tidworth sometime before the wedding as he paid rated of four pounds three shillings for 1705 and 1706. In 1707 he was chosen to be churchwarden and remained in this office until 1718. He was now 55 and maybe his health had deteriorated.

To Elizabeth and Mary 400 pounds each to be given at the age of 21. John’s brother Thomas and his brother-in-law William Cooper would be the executors.
In 1706 when John was 43, he married Ann COOPER, daughter of William COOPER (ca1650-~1703) & Ann (ca1660-~1722), in South Tidworth, England. Born in 1684. Ann died in 1772; she was 88.

Thomas and Elizabeeth of Rushall and Enford, Wiltsire.
Lived at Chisenbury de la Folie [Parish of Enford, Wiltshire, England], “The Dissenter”
Thomas, son of John and Joan, married an Elizabeth and lived in Enford.

Had 10 children - were not baptised until after their father’s death in 1734 except for Thomas. The group baptism took place in Enford [Wiltshire] in 1737.

Seven of the above Compton children [some or all children of Thomas and Elizabeth Compton] were baptised enmasse on 3.4.1737 (Apr 3) in Enford Church. Thomas was baptised in 1730 in N. Tidworth, of Sarah we don’t know yet. She must have been baptised before marrying Thomas Hiscock but the entry has not yet been found.

At some point around 1700 Thomas married Elizabeth. The marriage has not been found neither does Thomas’ will still exist. The pair produced 10 children. The Comptons were living in Chisenbury de la Folie to the north of Netheravon on the Avon. Their parish church was in Enford. Thomas was involved with the Manor Court and was probaby on the jury. He was mentioned in the minutes for 25.10.1723 and 23.101.1725. He was present on 6.10.1729. In the church warden’s accounts for 23.5.1729 a bill from him for 14s 11d was paid and on 11.5.1731, one of his men was paid 1 s 6d for 8 hedgehogs. Thomas died in 1735 and then in 1753, Ellizabeth too. They were buried in Enford churchyard, now a lovely green well-kept space where once grave stones stood...
